5% of rape victims of reproductive age (12-45) can become pregnant as a result of a rape, resulting in an estimated 32,101 pregnancies each year.

Unwanted pregnancy: 5% of rape victims of reproductive age (12 to 45) can become pregnancy as a result of rape, resulting in an estimated 32,101 pregnancies each year, most occurring among adolescents and resulting from assault by a known, often related perpetator. The risk of pregnancy may increase when the assailant is an intimate partner.  There is a risk of poor pregnancy outcomes when a woman is pregnant at the time of the rape.
